I walked down the untrodden path,
Through forests, alleys and a sleeping hamlet,
My heart hung heavy with pensive thoughts,
My eyes turned red as a scarlet.
The murky sky casts a shade of gloom,
Blossoms of trees have put on a veil,
Hope fades out from my parched soul,
Solitude was once delightful and romantic,
Silence of Nature seemed so full of life,
Love's a traitor that raped the chaste heart,
As the moon and stars battle the clouds,
As dew drops dance on the leaves of trees,
There walks past the forsaken lover,
Defeated by painful memories.
